Mangrove - Full Pack Scuba Diving Nusa Penida

The Mangrove dive location is one of Bali’s best dive spots. It is a massive coral plateau on Nusa Lembongan’s north shore. It gets its name from a huge mangrove region near the Nusa Ceningan Strait on the eastern side of Lembongan. Anyone diving in the Mangroves may see firsthand how essential mangroves are to the local ecosystem. It does, in fact, contribute to the reef’s health as well as the underwater scenery and corals’ quality.

Mangrove dive sites are well-known for snorkeling, but their topography makes them ideal for scuba diving. The mild slope allows for a descent to roughly 40 meters, however inexperienced divers should practice in shallower places first. Many fish, little and large, reef and pelagic, can be found on the plateau. You’ll be unsure where to look because the display is so thick. It’s truly a visual feast!

Depending on the tide and the full moon cycle, the current is moderate to mild. If it’s a windy day, maintain neutral buoyancy, face the bottom, and enjoy the show!

Diving in Mangrove

The dive begins on the surface of a shallow Formosa staghorn coral garden. Because of the shallow depth, the colors pop. A lovely arrangement unfolds further in the blue, following the slope, with the bommies signaling the path to deeper water. The gentle river allows us to float effortlessly through a lush, well-preserved environment.

This site is highly comprehensive and diverse. Diverse reef fish species, as well as scissortail sergeant fish, surgeonfish, pufferfish, and unicornfish, can be found here. The coral diversity is incredible, stretching as far as the eye can reach. Crocodile fish, reef sharks, and turtles make up a large part of the fauna. It is quite fascinating to observe all of the different species coexisting. You may learn more about Bali’s marine life by reading this Nusa Penida diving guide.
