Iina is originally from Leppakoski, Finland and she is currently based out of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Iina, whose childhood dream was to live somewhere with sunshine and palm trees, moved to Florida, USA at 17 when she received a Disney scholarship to be an exchange student.  She stayed in Florida to pursue her undergraduate in exercise physiology at the University of Florida.

For the past 20 years, Iina has been developing her career as a health and motivation expert and she graduated her Ph.D in Physiology Exercise from Georgia State University in 2011. Since then, she has worked with private clients with numerous health and fitness goals, as well as, people needing the motivation to reach other life goals.

Iina did “Try Diving” in August of 2015 with Dune Atlantis Bali, while on a vacation.  She did it with her sister, thus joining her mom and brother’s long-time diving hobby.  Only six months later, she decided to complete her PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water certification in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. After a month of diving in the Red Sea, she planned to include diving on her list to be taught to people. In December of 2016, she completed her rescue course in Jeddah, in preparation for her Dive Master Training, which she completed in February of 2017.

As she fell in love with Bali and had a wonderful experience with Dune Atlantis Bali during her “Try Diving”, Iina chose to complete her dive master training with Dune Atlantis Bali.

Iina has her own view about Bali ;

“The variety of diving conditions here and challenge of currents and surge have been an incredible learning experience! I am definitely a better diver and prepared to handle stressful situations as a professional.”

Iina thinks the quality of organizing and teaching at Dune Atlantis Bali is impressive ;

“Every person at Dune Atlantis Bali has a task to do and each group communicates with each other well. I never felt confused and someone was always there to answer my questions. I also feel well prepared for my PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), thanks to the instructors I have worked with.”

For the next few months, Iina plans to work with her clients, add new dive sites to her experiences, and then complete the PADI IDC. Being a diving instructor will be a service she can offer her clients and it will also serve as an additional benefit when looking for warm places to spend her winters.  Iina’s dream is to be on a mission to Mars.

Good Luck Iina Ester!
