“She decided to become a Dive Master just after finishing her Open Water Course in Koh Tao, Thailand.”

Last year, Yáng graduated from the University in Music and Art History. Then she decided to travel for a year. She worked as a chef for six months and then travelled to South America, Patagonia… She then went to Bali to do her Dive Master training. Yáng loves all the sensations of diving, being underwater, the silence… Water allows her to stay calm and to release her stress.

“I love the way I breathe, it’s the same feeling as doing yoga. I love the effect it has on my body.”

She made her first dive in Koh Tao, Thailand to do her Open Water last December. Just after finishing it with her 4 logged dives, she came to Bali to do her Dive Master training. Her instructor in Koh Tao told her that she was diving really well and encouraged her to continue.

“For these two months, I want to make sure that the place has good food, that the dives are up to standard and that there are beautiful dive sites”.

That’s why his diving instructor told him:

“Go to Bali!”

She found it perfect as she learned to play the Gamelan (Indonesian musical instrument) at university. She was excited to come to Bali because she could play the Gamelan with the locals.

After living in Bali for two months, she thinks it was the most authentic trip she has ever made.

“I left China for the United States at the age of sixteen and I travelled a lot but this time I found the same feelings as on my first trip.”

While doing her Dive Master, her objective was not to become a professional diver, but she wanted the best training in 2 months to understand the different notions of diving and its environment.

Her next step is to continue her Master’s degree at the university and to continue diving on her travels.

Her dream is to make a documentary on social problems but also to work in the field of education to help young people get more resources for their future.

GOOD LUCK YÁNG!
