OUR BOAT: AURORA

The 42m long Aurora is a Pinisi Vessel, was built in Sulawesi, offering all the advantages of a modern boat combined with the charm of a traditional one.

We offer 9 double or twin cabins, with in-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and daily housekeeping services, to accommodate up
to 18 guests.

The friendly crew will welcome our guests and ensure their comfort and satisfaction during all trips.

The Dune Aurora Phinisi cruises all year to the most spectacular and breath-taking areas of the Indonesian archipelago, where
crystal clear waters and stunning landscapes are awaiting to be discovered. After a full day of thrilling dives and unforgettable experiences with our professional guides, our guests can relax in the air-conditioned salon or enjoy the gorgeous view on the sun deck.

The on-board expert chefs will delight you with local and international food for every taste. Special menus are available, such
as vegetarian, vegan and gluten free.

Check out our Aurora Liveaboard page in our new website Dune Liveaboard.

What it is a Pinisi Vessel?

Literally, the word phinisi refers to a type of rigging (the configuration of masts, sails and ropes).  Indonesia’s wooden Phinisi boats were used to carry exotic spices and textiles through the ancient spice trading route. Boat builders in Sulawesi would take years to handcraft the vessels on the beach with an intensive and detailed process. In December 2017, UNESCO recognised South Sulawesi’s hand-crafted sailing vessel as an ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage’ and their unique legacy lives on today in our beloved Dune Aurora for cruising, diving and recreation.
