Tulamben (2 days / 5 dives)
100 % Tulamben, the Gate to the Past

From the Atlantis Dune office in Sanur (Denpasar), we make the two hours and 20 minute journey to Tulamben, located on the North East coast of Bali. The road follows the coastline until turning towards the interior of the island, penetrating through traditional villages and rice fields, with the silhouette of Bali’s tallest volcano in the background, Agung.

Tulamben is a world-renowned dive location, known particularly for its wreck, the USAT Liberty. The Liberty wreck is an American cargo ship, 120 meters long, found between 5 and 30 meters deep, covered entirely with an incredibly marine flora, including gorgonians, sponges, and sea squirts. The night dive here is even more mind-blowing, where a cornucopia of crustaceans literally invade the wreck, enormous humphead parrot fish sleep within the intact portions of the wrecks structure, and giant groupers and morays hunt amongst the wreckage and adjacent reef.

At the dive site Seraya, you will be enchanted by this amazing muck dive. Here we find rare and strange creatures, such as the famous Harlequin shrimp, ghost pipe fish, mimic octopus, nudibranch, frog fish, dragonets and a multitude of cleaning stations for morays and tropical fish.

Tulamben is divers’ location of preference, known to be one of the best diving “spots” in Asia.
